Seminar “Promoting the youth role in the implementation of sustainable development goals”
In the atmosphere of youth month, Vietnam Union of Science and Technology Association (Vietnam Union of Associations) held a ceremony to celebrate the 90th founding anniversary of Ho Chi Minh Communist Youth Union and seminar named “Promoting the youth role in the implementation of sustainable development goals.”
In the exciting atmosphere of Youth Month, on the afternoon of March 26, Vietnam Union of Science and Technology Association (VUSTA) held a ceremony to celebrate the 90th founding anniversary of Ho Chi Minh Communist Youth (March 26, 1931 – March 26, 2021) and Seminar “Promoting the youth role in the implementation of sustainable development goals.”
Speaking at the ceremony, Mr. Pham Quang Thao emphasized the role and importance of the Communist Youth Union as the right hand of the Party. Especially in peacetime when being associated with the development of the country, the role and position of the Youth Union has not changed.
Ms. Nguyen Thanh Huyen – Secretary of Vusta Youth Union introduced the revised Youth Law in 2021 and raised the Report on the Youth Union Work program of VUSTA.
Besides, the seminar “Promoting the youth role in the implementation of sustainable development goals” with the participation of Mr. Don Tuan Phuong – Director of CSDS Center for Sustainable Development Studies and youth leaders from many different projects. At the ceremony, they introduced typical projects implemented by themselves based on sustainable development goals, contributing to making positive values to the community. In which, it is necessary to mention Dao Ngoc Phuong Linh with 2030 Youth Force Vietnam – A report of the youth network in improving the youth’s understanding of the sustainable development goals; Greenlife Project – Green lifestyle project shared by Nguyen Thi Thuy Linh. Moreover, Tran Thi Hong Hien from YNET presented about the Youth Network in combating climate change and Nguyen Nhu Ngoc talked about the contributions of young people in the prevention of child sexual abuse under the KID+ project. .

Immediately followed by Mr. Don Tuan Phuong’s sharing about the strength of youth, CSDS chose to accompany young people to help create opportunities to support and connect with the common goal towards Sustainable Development. Young people are constantly working, creating, making positive changes to the community they live in. CSDS wishes that each of us can join hands to create change and opportunities to develop together.

At the end of the ceremony were wishes and expectations that VUSTA would like to convey to the young people, and at the same time, VUSTA also encouraged and promoted the spirit of volunteering, creativity and implementation of practical works and jobs. Hopefully, the youth would firmly move forward to the future and contribute more to the country.
